The Summer Library Challenge hosted by the Ida Rupp Library, and more unique events at Meals on Madison in downtown Port Clinton, as well as lots of fun have made the list distributed for July by the Ida Rupp Libraries.
The July calendar for all locations of the Ida Rupp Public Library includes the following schedule of events from July 13-30. In case of rain at outdoor events, join library officials in the Ida Rupp community room at the library.
TUESDAY, JULY 13
Mini Aquarium Project, Meals on Madison, Downtown Port Clinton; 10:30–11:30 a.m. Adults. Get your creativity going with a nice little art project. Meet at M.O.M. to make a mini mason jar aquarium to display at your home. All supplies provided (excluding the fish), while supplies last.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 13
Story Time with Miss Kristen, Meals on Madison, Downtown Port Clinton; 10-11 a.m. Children. Join Miss Kristen at M.O.M. for some fishy stories and a cool sand art craft.
THURSDAY, JULY 14
Imagination Station and Craft, Meals on Madison, Downtown Port Clinton; 1-2 p.m. Teens in grades 6-12. Enjoy the presentation by Imagination Station and create your own DIY lava lamp.
SATURDAY, JULY 16
Jamestown Historical Walking Tour, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 9:30–11 a.m. Adults. This historical walking tour will take place through the Jamestown neighborhood of Marblehead. The terrain is sidewalks and paved streets and will cover approximately one mile and will last about an hour. Registration is required.
MONDAY, JULY 19
Music with Chip Richter, Meals on Madison, Downtown Port Clinton; 2-3 p.m. Children. Chip Richter serves up stories, songs, and smiles “Family Style.” It’s a recipe for more fun than a kid should be allowed to have as Chip delivers healthy portions of love and laughter.
Grab & Go Craft Kit for Adults – Christmas in July, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library. Adults. This week’s Grab & Go Craft Kit includes everything you need to make a Christmas ornament. Come in and pick one up while supplies last.
Grab & Go Craft Kit for Kids – Amphibians, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library. Children. It’s Amphibians Week at the library! Come in and pick up a craft kit that includes everything you need to make an origami bookmark while supplies last.
TUESDAY, JULY 20
Tuesday Morning Book Discussion, Meals on Madison, Downtown Port Clinton, 10:30–11:30 a.m. Adults. This month’s book is Perestroika in Paris by Jane Smiley. Copies have been on hold. Ask at the main library desk for regular or large print editions. Also available on OverDrive in ebook and audio book formats.
Clemons Cemetery Walking Tour, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 9:30–11 a.m. Adults. Join us for a new walking tour on the grounds of Clemons Cemetery (91 East Main St., Marblehead) to educate about Clemons Cemetery, its interred, and cemetery restoration and preservation. The terrain of the cemetery is unlevel grass. The tour will last about an hour. This tour will be open to eight people and registration is required.

Words & Wine Book Club, at Duff Vineyards hosted by Erie Islands Library; 5:30–6:30 p.m. Adults. Share a book you have read while enjoying a beverage of your choosing. Even if you haven’t had time to read, you are welcome to join us to hear what others are suggesting.
Trivia at Rocky Point Winery, hosted by Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 6:30–8 p.m. Adults. Join us for live trivia with Erin at Rocky Point Winery. Build your team of up to eight participants to win bragging rights and something special from Rocky Point Winery. Since there are no reservations, arrive early for the best chance of having a place for your team.

Outdoor Explorer Kits for Teens, Ida Rupp Public Library, Port Clinton; 1-2 p.m. Teens in grades 6-12. Pick up a kit and information that can be used to identify various trees, flowers and other vegetation in the great outdoors. Kits available while supplies last.
Giant Lawn Games, Ida Rupp Public Library; All ages. Play giant lawn games. Games will be available outside in the Friends Plaza on Madison Street on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in June and July, during the Art Walk between 3-8 p.m.

Chalk Talk: An Obstacle Course Erie Islands Library; any time. All ages. We will draw an awesome obstacle course at the entrance to the library. Open anytime day or night through July 29.
