’Twas the week before Christmas, and all through Immaculate Conception Church and School in Port Clinton, the girls and boys were excited.
While most children are wondering what will be under the family Christmas Tree at this time of year, the children were busily getting ready to remind the parish about the real reason for the season at the annual Christmas Program: The commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
In song and with talented bell-ringing in the stately church, the young voices on high made their parents and family members smile, reported Principal Margaret Drew, in her first year of guiding the students.
While “Merry Christmas” had been the most common salutation for most, “Happy Birthday, Jesus” rang true at Immaculate Conception Church.
