PORT CLINTON – The true meaning of Christmas is always a top priority at Immaculate Conception School (ICS). This year is no different. The families of ICS are planning to put the art of giving in the forefront again this year as plans for the 4th annual Project Elf are underway. Project Elf was brought to ICS by first grade teacher, Peggy Crawford.

“Project Elf started when a mom posted about how parents are using the Elf on a Shelf to get their kids to donate their gently used toys to children who are in need,” Crawford said.

ICS has taken this “better to give than receive” virtue and put it into action for the holidays. The school is asking their families to collect toys that are in like-new condition and donate them to others. School doors will then be open on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 8 a.m. to noon to families in our community who are in need of a little extra help this Christmas. This is not a sale. All toys collected are given out for free on a first-come, first-serve basis. All in need are welcome. Immaculate Conception School is located at 109 W. 4th St. in Port Clinton.
