PORT CLINTON – The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council’s next exhibit at The Arts Garage (TAG) is sure to inspire nautical, floral, and nature art lovers. The three artists – Gregory Ehmann, Nicolette Tolomeo Germain, and Susan Walker – will be on-hand to preview their art at a reception for the exhibit, titled “Inspirations and the Feeling of Yes!”​ The reception, which is open to the public, will be held on Friday, July 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at TAG, located at 317 W. Perry St. in Port Clinton.

Ehmann grew up in Point Place, near Toledo, and paints in acrylics. While serving in the Army from 1967-69, he painted murals and abstracts. His work is displayed in California, Ohio, Florida and Michigan, and he has many awards.

“I’m excited about this exhibit,” Ehmann said. “I haven’t shown my work in quite a while.”

Many of his paintings represent unique locations around Marblehead and Catawba Island.

Germain’s artistic journey began in the garment industry as a third-generation tailor with a passion for photography. A love for nature and the outdoors, Nicolette’s photography features a variety of serene and natural images.

“I switched from film to digital many years ago. However, my photos still reflect reality, with minimal processing, as I see life, capturing fleeting moments unaltered by modern technology,” Germain said.

Walker is a contemporary abstract artist known for vibrant, mixed media paintings that explore emotion, movement, and joy. Working intuitively with acrylic, graphite, ink, collage, and oil, Walker creates uplifting compositions that invite viewers into spaces of hope, energy, and emotional connection. Although based in Pennsylvania, Walker’s art has been shown in the Lakeside and Marblehead areas.

“We should surround ourselves with things that bring joy,” Walker said.

TAG will be celebrating five years of embracing art and artists on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at A Birthday in Brushstrokes. Tickets to the event are $55 per person and can be purchased at gpcaac.org or at TAG during regular hours, Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event includes a juried art show, a paint-out by area artists, dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and plenty of fun.
