Two-day workshop is Oct. 5-6
A reception and show for national award-winning artist Jessica Henry will feature original depictions of nature, rural life and family at Ferguson Gallery in Marblehead on Friday, Oct. 4 from 4-5 p.m.
A classical impressionist artist, Henry is known for her popular internet art lessons. Her YouTube channel recently surpassed one million views and is followed by 14,000 subscribers in over 50 countries. She leads workshops around the U.S., the United Kingdom and France. Henry is also co-founder of the Renaissance Academy of Fine Arts, an online Classical; Impressinism training institute.
On exhibit will be 20 original oil paintings featuring the life history and passions of the artist. Raised on a horse farm and having brought up four children, Henry’s works feature uplifting themes of pastoral life, family, landscapes and seascapes. In addition to her paintings, the show will feature giclee prints, cards and handmade palettes.
Guests will also be able to view the finely crafted glass of Cary Ferguson, the gallery’s proprietor, as well as his collection of locally-themed landscapes.
On Oct. 5-6, Henry will offer a two-day workshop in Plein Air painting for artists of all levels. The course will be held in Marblehead’s surrounding parks and natural areas.
