So lately, because of recent medical situations, I have become acutely aware of changes in how my brain transmits direction to my hands or other limbs. My signature is not as clear, my math is not as intuitive, and I am unsure of foot at times. I doublecheck my surroundings more instead of just leaping forward into my next mission. My phraseology is slurred at times. Oh well, time and parts are wearing out. The hardest part is when I put my hand in a door handle. Sometimes I leave my thumb in it while operating the door, and “ouch” or some other word spews out loudly.
I also wonder why I seem to get bitten more than ever before. It’s just random but more often, and often it is a series of four or five bites near each other.
So onward to stupid questions offered up at restaurants, like when it is 95 out and the customer demands to know “Is it hot on your patio.” Indeed, let’s measure the sanity of this question. If the patio is outside of the building and sitting in the hot sun, just what would make this area cooler? I mean, you can have fans blowing hot air, but alas, it is still hot air. I heard one customer question, “Is your coffee liquid?” So, am I just out of touch, or can you now smoke your coffee?
It is just me? Are there a lot of signs up everywhere you go? It’s like the song “Signs” by The Five Man Electrical Band. It seems that the sign people assume we are reading these signs and changing our course of action immediately. I sometimes think, ‘When is enough, enough?’ but then again…. Is It Just Me?
So lastly the song stuck in my head this go around is “Cinnamon Girl” by Neil Young. Why this was it this time, I do not know, but there you go. See you around Ottawa County!
