Technical problems linked to Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing system caused massive IT outages, disrupting airlines, healthcare and business networks, beginning Thursday evening. Although much of the problem has been resolved, lack of service still remains in some systems.
Locally, residents who utilize OhioBenefits services do not have access to the statewide call center. Because OhioBenefits’ document imaging and form creator systems are down, customers cannot do telephone interviews and cannot apply for benefits except through the SSP portal.
The OhioBenefits call center is currently working, but staff are unable to print forms or access information through scanned documents.
Other services that may be affected include health clinics and hospitals, flights and banks.
