James A. “Jimmie” Webb, 90, of Catawba Island passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, at Admiral’s Pointe, Huron. He was born May 11, 1931, in Florence, Miss. the son of E. K. and Leola (Taylor) Webb. He married Marjean Thames on June 22, 1958, and she survives. Jimmie was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was the owner of Jimmie’s Gotcha Restaurant in Marblehead and worked as a bartender at Catawba Island Club, Mon Ami, The Crow’s Nest and many private parties.
Surviving are his wife: Marjean; sons: Darrell (Lisa) Webb of DeSoto, Texas, Kendrick (Dureda) Webb of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dwindal Webb of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Kendra Webb, Andre Webb, Ashley Webb, Natasha Webb, Nicholas Webb, Kenyatta “Precious” Webb; great-grandchildren: Martez Wilson, Messiah Webb, Tiarra Wilson, Cinque Carter, Israel Webb; sister: Christine Ross of Florence, Miss.; special niece: Paulette Farmer who helped take care of him in his final days; special friend: Ralph Rethman; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Ernestine Lewis.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 19, from 2-6 p.m. at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Erie Shores Assembly of God, 220 S. Gill Rd. Port Clinton. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery.
