James R. (Jim) Kieselhorst of The Moorings of Gray Oaks in Naples, Fla., formerly of Palmira Golf & CC in Bonita Springs passed away on April 27. Prior to living in Naples, Jim lived in Catawba Island, Ohio and Annapolis, MD. Jim was born on Sept. 11, 1942 in St. Paul, Minn.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claudia J. Kieselhorst. He is also survived by his brother, Hank Kieselhorst of Minnesota; his brother-in-law and best friend, Park Schafer and his wife, Sharon; niece, Amanda Gister (Mark); nephew, Kurt Schafer (Jessica); sister-in-law, Fran Kieselhorst; great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Josephine, Tyler, Makenna, Parker and numerous nieces and nephews in Minnesota.
Jim graduated from University of Toledo with an MBA in Business. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. During college, Jim and his friend, George, started a motorcycle rental business in Toledo to help pay for his education. During his career, he worked for Ford Motor Company and Baltimore Air Coil.
Jim retired 22 years ago and enjoyed every minute of it with Claudia. His favorite pass times were traveling, sailing, power boating on Lake Erie and Chesapeake Bay, He loved golfing with his golf buddies, Jim Steller, Tom Duffy, Alan Miller, Lenny Kovacs and too many others to mention. He also enjoyed target and clay shooting both in Florida and Ohio.
