Janice Fae (Nye) Jensen passed away peacefully on April 5 in Sun Lakes, Ariz. She was surrounded by her family and beloved friends.
Jan was born on April 8, 1934, in Fostoria, to Arthur and Leone (Goshe) Nye. She married Port Clinton native Richard Jensen on Feb. 2, 1952. Together they raised 3 children: Karla, Chris, and Mark.
Jan was a military wife for 20 years, traveling the country wherever Dick was stationed while serving in the USAF. She was also a career woman who worked for many years (including the years she was raising her family). Jan and Dick both retired from Boeing and moved to Sun Lakes, Ariz. in 2007, to spend their retirement years in the sunshine. She had many friends in Sun Lakes and loved getting together with “the girls” for coffee, donuts, lunches, and movies. She remained very active walking her two little dogs daily. She was a faithful member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Sun Lakes. She was also a frequent blood donor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her parents.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Karla and Gloria, Chris and Bill, and Mark and Sheila. Her pride and joy were her granddaughters and their spouses: Ivy and Jeremy, Anna and Craig, and her two great-grandsons, Roman and Abel, who visited her often and gave her plenty of laughter and joy. Local survivors include her sister, Carol Sue (Susie) Miller and family.
At Jan’s request, there were no services.
