Jean A. Cihla, 84, of Lakeside-Marblehead, passed away Nov. 9, 2022, at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village. She was born Sept. 16, 1938, in Grant, Mich., the daughter of James P. and Christine (Laban) Koops, Sr. She married Edward R. Cihla, Sr. on June 22, 1974, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2022. Jean was a school teacher in the Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School District. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Marblehead.

Surviving are her children: Donna J. (James) Rice of Elyria, OH, Mark Nichols of Akron, OH, Stephen (Debra) Cihla of Elyria, OH, Susan Cihla of Port Clinton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister: Marcia LaFraugh of Houghton Lake, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Edward; son Edward R. Cihla, Jr.; great-granddaughter Darcy Rubino; brother James P. Koops, Jr.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. April 22, with visitation from 1 p.m. until the service at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd.
