The final Jessie Schenk Memorial Turkey Chase 5K held last November raised funds for 10 scholarships for Port Clinton High School scholar athletes. The Turkey Chase 5K was held to honor the life of 2008 Port Clinton High School graduate, Jessie Schenk, who passed away on Nov. 20, 2009. Each 2025 recipient was awarded a $1,500 scholarship.

“We are really proud of this bench mark year. We had so much help from The Beacon for the Turkey Chase Finale and from many friends,” said Jessie’s father, Mike Schenk.

This year’s scholarship recipients were: Ashton Sanchez, Samuel Roberts, Shianne Lieske, Quinn Felbinger, Destiny Wallace, Grace Fleenor, Madeline Cornell, Olivia Spencer, Nora Rosario and Will Hartlaub. (Submitted photo)
