Former Ottawa County Commissioner and long-time farmer Jim Sass of Port Clinton has been appointed to the Board of Supervisors of the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District. Sass will be serving the remainder of Connie Sandwisch’s term.
Sass was sworn into office by Vice-Chairman Rich Thorbahn at a recent board meeting. Sass will join Thorbahn, Chairman Todd Hecht, Treasurer Roland Sandrock and Secretary Bill Hartman. The board will direct the staff of the Solid and Water Conservation District to carry out conservation and natural resources practices by assisting urban and rural landowners throughout Ottawa County.
