John Davenport and The Island Song Quartet will be featured on the Port Clinton Rotary’s World Polio Day on Sunday, Oct. 24 at the HALO concert venue in Sandusky.
Several years ago, Rotary International adopted the eradication of Polio as its international service project. This year, in a huge push to fight this crippling childhood disease, one of the most feared diseases in industrialized countries, the 1.2 million member organization designated Sunday, Oct. 24 as World Polio Day.
The national officials asked that every Rotary Club in the world create a fundraiser for the event. Toward that end, the Rotary Clubs of Port Clinton and Sandusky Rotary Clubs are joining forces on World Polio Day to host a fundraising concert from 5-8 p.m. at HALO, a music recording and concert venue located at 805 Wayne St., Sandusky.
Beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and food will be available for purchase. There will be a suggested donation of $20 at the door. Questions pertaining the event can be forwarded to the Port Clinton Rotary coordinator, John M. Davenport, at 419-349-6177 or colonelcrash@yahoo.com. The Sandusky Rotary contact is Jen Lippus at jenlipp91@gmail.com. Both Rotary Clubs will also accept donations if you are unable to attend the World Polio Day Concert.
