Kay passed away at her home in Leesburg, Fl. Oct. 8 with family by her side. She was born in Athens on March 12, 1940 and was married to her husband John for 57 years; he preceded her in death. Kay was also preceded in death by a son Bradley, her Parents Lloyd and Bernice (McVey) Kelley and her in-laws Mike and Helen (Kapko) Dziak and many other relatives.
Surviving is her sister Kathy Murry (Hurshel Townson) sons Jeff (Denise) Dziak, Greg (Sandy) Dziak and Chris Dziak (Darci Deveries), fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Kay retired from Ford Motor Company, Sandusky, was a former councilman and mayor of the Village of Marblehead from 1983 thru 1999 and was elected president of North Ohio Mayors Association 1992-1993. She and her husband were known for opening their home for community pool parties and Christmas Eve parties where they were known to host up to one hundred people in an evening.
Due to COVID crisis and the inability to find a venue for Kay’s service there will be an open air graveside memorial service at St. Mary’s Byzantine Church Cemetery, 115 E Main St., Marblehead, Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring your mask and a chair. Also due to the COVID crisis there will be no luncheon following the service; those who choose to come with the family are welcome to accompany them to Diana’s Deli 2853 E Harbor Rd, Port Clinton, for a dinner in honor of Kay.
