This Halloween season, children have a bucketful of opportunities to go trick-or-treating throughout Ottawa County. The fun begins on Oct. 26 at Port Clinton High School and continues through Halloween on Oct. 31 with a variety of events in the county.
Wednesday, October 26
- 6:00 PM-7:00 PM – Port Clinton High School Spooktacular trunk or treat event will be held in the parking lot area between the high school and middle school. All children ages infant through fifth grade are welcome to enjoy trick-or-treating and Halloween activities. Parking is available in the main parking lot off Jefferson St. and in the Performing Arts Center lot off 10th Street. The event is sponsored by PCHS Key Club and National Honor Society.
Thursday, October 27
- 5:00 PM-8:00 PM – The Civilian Marksmanship Program will host Trick-or-Treat at the Range, an indoor event at the CMP Competition Center, 1000 N Lawrence Rd, Building 5042 at Camp Perry. The CMP staff will present a prize for the best costume.
- 5:30 PM-7:30 PM — Danbury Township’s Jack-O-Lantern Walk will be held at Meadowbrook Marsh in Danbury Township. Come anytime, bring a flashlight, walk the Jack O’ Lantern trail and enjoy cider and donuts.
- 6:00 PM-7:30 PM – Genoa Retirement Village will host Trunk or Treat for area children.
- 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM – Crow’s Nest restaurant and lounge is partnering with other local businesses to offer a night of trick-or-treating for kids.
Saturday, October 29
- Noon-3:00 PM – Children can trick-or-treat in the wild during Howl-o-ween at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge at 14000 W State Route 2 in Oak Harbor. Trick-or-treating will take place on the boardwalk loop. The event is sponsored by Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.
- 1:00 PM-4:00 PM – Main Street Port Clinton will host Downtown Trick-or-Treat.
- 3:00 PM-4:00 PM – Following the Downtown Trick-or-Treat event in Port Clinton, Ida Rupp Public Library will host a Halloween-themed magic show performed by Michael Mage. Kids are welcome to attend in their costumes, and each child will receive a goodie bag.
Monday, October 31
- 4:30 PM-6:00PM – Teens in sixth through twelfth grades are invited to have their Halloween makeup applied by professional makeup artists Lisa Agner & Jennifer Benavidez at Ida Rupp Public Library.
- 5:00PM-6:00PM – Otterbein Marblehead will host indoor and outdoor trick-or-treating at its Independent Living Apartments and Patio Homes.
- 5:30PM-6:30PM Downtown Oak Harbor merchants will host trick-or-treating. Participating businesses will post signs in their windows.
- 6:00PM-7:30PM – Oak Harbor community trick-or-treat.
- 6:00PM-8:00PM – Port Clinton community trick-or-treat.
- 6:00PM-8:00PM – Marblehead community trick-or-treat.
- 6:00PM-8:00PM – Genoa community trick-or-treat.
- 6:00PM-8:00PM – Elmore community trick-or-treat.
- 6:00PM-8:00PM – Put-in-Bay community trick-or-treat.
