The Port Clinton Kiwanis Club packs summer lunches for kids around Ottawa County.

Members of the Port Clinton Kiwanis Club gathered at the Family Advocacy Center in Port Clinton recently and helped with packing lunches for kids in Ottawa County. It is a way youngsters are assured meals while school is in recess for summer around the area.

This program is operated by the Family Advocacy Center, but the months-long effort requires the help of as many as 10 volunteers each day to pack approximately 10,000 meals for distribution each week.

The Family Advocacy Center reports that additional volunteers are needed for the time consuming service. Individuals and groups who can help with the important effort should contact the center to join in the effort. Call the Family Advocacy Center at 419-301-0225.
