The fall yellow perch fishing season on Lake Erie is producing very good numbers of jumbo perch right now.

The Lake Erie Erie yellow perch fishing may be languishing in the Central Basin and Eastern Basin off Lake Erie, but arround the Lake Erie Islands it is on fire right now!

It has been a few years since we’ve had such a wonderful fall bite of yellow perch, a favorite of fishermen. This is a good thing for the area. We are still battling high winds, but it is not stopping the perch from biting.

These fish are in pretty close right to shore off Lakeside, and anglers are reporting they are catching a nice grade of fish as well.

The Marblehead Lighthouse is still going strong, with good numbers of jumbo perch being caught around that area. We had a lot of reports this week the the waters north of Kelleys Island has produced some good numbers of really big perch.

The perch fishing has also been good east of us from Huron to Fairport, where the limit is 10 per per day for each angler, which is really good news for that area. We hope to see this continue for the future.
