The Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club has been busy, as always, making the village a nicer and safer place to live. Last week, Lions members assembled seven new picnic tables for James Park, and the club has been busy preparing for two upcoming events.
Lake Point Park at 11257 E. Bayshore Road in Marblehead will soon be renamed “Marblehead Peninsula Lions Park at Lake Point.” A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, June 11 at 3 p.m. featuring free hot dogs and snacks.
“We saw that a lot of other communities have Lions parks, and we wanted to adopt a park, too,” said Lions President Bill Tuttamore. “We’re really excited about this.”
The Lions Club will also sponsor CPR training at the new Danbury Township Fire Department at 7870 E. Harbor Road, Marblehead, on Saturday, June 17 from noon to 3 p.m. The training is free and open to the public.
“This will not provide certification. It is training, so people know what to do,” Tuttamore said. “The whole community is invited to attend at no cost.”
