BASCOM — After Danbury scored to cut the deficit to one run, Hopewell-Loudon scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take control in its 7-1 win over the Lakers.
Danbury managed just one run on seven hits, the lone RBI coming when Eliza Brickner drove in Michaela Harris. Alyssa Jenkins finished with two hits and a double to help pace the Lakers.
Sidney Brickner had a home run for the Chieftans.
The Lakers host St. Mary Central Catholic on Monday at 5 p.m. in a Division IV sectional semifinal.
