LAKESIDE – Lakeside Chautauqua is proud to participate in Ohio Goes to the Movies (OGTTM), a statewide celebration of films with ties to Ohio. Lakeside will host a free viewing of the animated film “Anastasia” at Orchestra Hall at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. There are no gate or parking fees into Lakeside now that the Chautauqua season has ended.
Directed and produced by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, the 1997 animated musical, “Anastasia,” tells the story of the last surviving daughter of the Romanov family as she embarks on a journey to discover her identity and reunite with her grandmother.
The film features an all-star cast of voices, including Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Christopher Lloyd, Kelsey Grammer, Hank Azaria, Bernadette Peters, Kirsten Dunst, and Angela Lansbury.
“Anastasia” also features voice work by Bill Nolte, originally from Genoa, Ohio. A Broadway and voice actor, Nolte appears as part of the film’s ensemble cast. He also lent his voice to 1990s animated films “Bartok the Magnificent” and “Buster & Chauncey’s Silent Night.”
OGTTM is a statewide initiative celebrating films connected to Ohio, highlighting actors, directors, writers, composers, filming locations, and stories rooted in the state.
As a Signature Event of America 250-Ohio, OGTTM runs from February through October 2026 and features 250 days of films. The series includes independent films, Hollywood classics, blockbusters and rare archival footage, all showcasing Ohio’s lasting impact on the film industry.
Lakeside is proud to be the only site in Ottawa County hosting this special program.
