Custom trucks, motorcycles and cars, like this patriotic vehicle in the recent Independence Day car show in Port Clinton, will fill Madison Street for the Lippus Memorial Classic Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 7.

The Jerry Lippus Memorial Classic Car Show will take over Madison Street for its 28th anniversary event on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m.-3 pm. Sponsors, door prizes and custom cars are still needed for the iconic downtown car show.

There is still time to get your vehicle registered. Call the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce at 419-734-5503 or visit PortClintonChamber.com. Entry cost is $10 and the first 100 cars registered receive a free dash plaque. Cars, trucks and bikes from virtually every era and every make will be on display, and a DJ will be playing road music favorites from 10 a.m. to 3: p.m. The 50/50 drawings begin at 11 a.m. and hourly door prizes begin at 11:30 a.m.

In recent years, the shows have hosted an average of 150 cars and trucks. A portion of the registration fees are donated to the Port Clinton 4th of July Fireworks and Main Street Port Clinton in honor of the late Jerry Lippus.

Show sponsorships begin at $125, showgoers can win door prizes and “goodie bags” are being created for each participant.
