CATAWBA ISLAND – Lis Brand has joined the Board of Trustees for the Catawba Island Historical Society (CIHS).

A seasoned marketing and public relations professional, Brand brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the CIHS board. In her most recent role, she is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Indicre Marketing.

Prior to Indicre, Brand served as Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Magruder Hospital. Before her tenure with Magruder, she owned and operated her own marketing agency, partnering with clients throughout Ohio. Over the course of her career, she has earned 25 national marketing awards for distinction in strategy, execution and creative direction across various media platforms.

Brand holds an MBA in Organizational Change and Leadership from Tiffin University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University. She lives in Port Clinton with her long-time partner, Jason Kreulen, and her twin sons, Casey and Wyatt.

In addition to her role with the CIHS, Brand also serves on the Board of Directors for the Firelands Symphony Orchestra.

CIHS was created in 2017 to help preserve and protect local heritage. It opened a historical Museum a year later near the north shore of Catawba in a former nondenominational Sunday School called Union Chapel. The building had been constructed in 1887 – 1888. Exhibits and displays are arranged to tell a timeline tale of the area’s geological birth, prehistoric and Native American people, pioneers, orchard and arbor fame and transformation to a lakeside recreation mecca.
