Local libraries to offer solar fun and educate

Grant Donnelly from the University of Toledo Astronomy Department will present the program, Understanding the Solar Eclipse, at Oak Harbor Public Library on March 12. Donnelly will explain what locals can expect to see during the April 8 solar eclipse and will answer questions from the audience.

Upcoming space-related, afterschool programs for kids include Decorate Eclipse Glasses on March 11-15; Astronaut Fun on March 18-22; and Space and Eclipse on March 25-29. For a full list of March programs at Oak Harbor Public Library, visit www.oakharborpubliclibrary.org.

Back to the Wild will visit Ida Rupp Public Library on March 6 to present a special program on the solar eclipse and nocturnal animals. Wildlife rehabilitation workers will discuss the unique behaviors nocturnal animals exhibit during a solar eclipse. Registration is not required, and eclipse glasses will be available at the event.
