The Northwest Ohio District Wrestling Tournament has always been a bit of a “meat-grinder.” When the smoke cleared on Saturday night, the Oak Harbor Rockets managed to get three wrestlers qualified for this weekend’s State Tournament, while Port Clinton qualified one.
Leading the way is Oak Harbor’s Hayden Buhro, who dropped one weight class and took the 165-pound district title, which qualifies him as a top seed at State.
Owen Miller finished as the runner-up at 138 pounds, while his younger brother, Bodee, finished fourth at 113 pounds. Bodee won his qualifying match, 8-7.
Port Clinton’s Josh Cornell finished third at 113 pounds, and will be headed to State.
