Lorraine Jensen, 89, of Port Clinton, died at home under Stein Hospice at Home care on Sunday, March 19, just a month before her 90th birthday. Lorraine was born on April 25, 1933, in Mt. Sterling, Ind. to Frank and Bernice Brindley Bennett. Bea came to Port Clinton (PC) in 1943 with her family when her father transferred to the EOD. On March 23, 1953 in Port Clinton she married Ronald “Ron” Jensen for 64 years until his death on April 15, 2017. Bea graduated from Port Clinton High School (PCHS) in May 1951 and received an Associate Degree in Counseling from BGSU in May 1989. Upon graduation in 1951, Bea began work at the PCHS. Bea worked at many retail locations from Gobels and Timblins to K-Mart and a marina. Bea was very active at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton for 26 years; singing in three+ church choirs, serving on committees, teaching Sunday School at several age groups including adults. Bea loved to play PC Rec volleyball and golf with Ron. She loved people and music, and Bea loved her friends.
Lorraine is survived by sons, Craig Jensen and Steve Jensen of Port Clinton, Steve K. Stroh (Tina) of Bellingham, Wash., daughter, Julie Gottschalk Joy of Elyria, daughter-in-law, Carol Jensen of Norwalk; grandchildren, Eric Jensen (Angela), Nichol Humphrey (Kris), Merideth Stroh, Caitlin Agard (Andy), Casey Joy, Caleb Joy, great grandchildren, Elrik Jensen, Tessa Wilson, and December Lawrence; great-great grandchildren, Harper Jensen, Edith Jensen, Wade Wilson, Azyrian Jensen, Julian Jensen; as well as many nieces and nephews including Donald Arebaugh (Patty), and George Arebaugh (Judy). She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Paul Jensen and Rev. Kent Joy, daughter, Cindy Jensen and siblings Robert Bennett, Donald Bennett, Evelyn Bennett Arebaugh, Ramona Bennett Coyle, and Lola Bennett, her twin.
Visitation with the family and a Celebration of Life Service were held on March 27 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home 216 Washington Street Port Clinton.
