The Friends of Magee Marsh will also have a brand new gift shop within the Magee Marsh Visitor Center.

The Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center was built in 1970. Since last June the building has been getting a total transformation and is scheduled to open this April.

Visitors will see a whole new look and feel as they walk through the front door, which is framed in large glass windows. The Friends of Magee Marsh will also have a brand new gift shop within the Magee Marsh Visitor Center. The group is recruiting volunteers to help in the gift shop. Volunteers will meet visitors from all over the world.

An exact opening date will be announced soon and posted on the Friends of Magee Marsh’s Facebook Page. The gift shop will be open April though October.

New displays, exhibits and restrooms have been installed. Visitors will also have access to the upstairs and this space will focus on the hunting tradition at Magee Marsh.

An information session for anyone interested in volunteering will be held Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at the Ida Rupp Library in Port Clinton. To register, email Mary Warren at windbird@bex.net.
