MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival returns to Ida Rupp Library

The popular MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will return to the Ida Rupp Library on Friday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. Come watch the finalists and make your voice heard by voting for your favorite movies at the end of each showing. All finalists will be eligible for the Oscar Qualifying Run. Past finalists have gone on to be nominated for an Oscar.

Thursday, Sept. 22

  • One-On-One Tech Help, Ida Rupp Public Library; 1 – 2 p.m.; Adults. Call 419-732-3212 to schedule a 30-minute help session.
  • Outdoor Game Day, Ida Rupp Public Library; 3 – 4 p.m., Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to play various outdoor games. In case of storm, the program will be held in the community room.
  • Lego Night, Erie Islands Library; 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.; Children. We are excited to be able to hold Lego Club again in the library! Come build a creation that will remain on display in the library for one week.

  • Euchre Club, Ida Rupp Public Library; 6 – 7:45 p.m.; Adults. Join us for fun evening of Euchre.
  • DIY Tie Dye T-Shirts, Erie Islands Library; 3 – 4:30 p.m.; Teens. Have you always wanted to tie dye your own t-shirt? Now is your chance! We will have all the supplies you will need to tie dye your very own t-shirt. Event limited to 12 students in grades 4-12. RSVP to ensure a spot.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

  • True Crime on the Lake, Ida Rupp Public Library; 6 – 7 p.m.; Adults. Recognized for its beauty and recreation, Lake Erie has provided visitors with the ideal vacation spot. However, the location has also proved to be an ideal spot for crime. Join us for this true crime program where Wendy Koile will discuss crime and her research of the murky waters of Lake Erie.

  • Quilling, Ida Rupp Public Library; 3 – 4 p.m.; Teens. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to create a paper quilling craft.
  • Book Pumpkin, Erie Islands Library; 5 – 6 p.m.; Adults. Craft a book page pumpkin by simply cutting the pages of a paperback book, and you’ll create a beautiful pumpkin.

Friday Sept. 30

  • Yoga at the Library, Ida Rupp Public Library; 9 – 10:15 a.m.; Adults. Bring a mat, and wear comfortable clothing. This is a gentle class. Instructor Renee Claycomb is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher.
