Travel magazine TravelMag.com has picked the Marblehead Lighthouse, located in the Village of Marblehead, as among the 20 most beautiful lighthouses in the United States. The Marblehead Lighthouse on the Marblehead Peninsula overlooks Lake Erie and Sandusky Bay. It is the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes. Built from local limestone and covered in stucco, the tower has been featured on a U.S. postage stamp and Ohio license plates. It was built in 1821 and is now part of the Ohio State Parks system.
