After 89 years of living God’s will on earth, Marian Sennich Fowler was called to her eternal home in heaven with her Lord on January 26 at 10:35 in the evening. She joins her husband, Jack Fowler; her parents, Alex Sennich and Mary Holodnak; and her brother, Donald Sennich. Surviving her are her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Thomas Hurst of Tampa, Florida, her three cherished grandchildren, Tucker Marden Hurst, Sophia Devine Hurst, and Webster Perry Hurst, all of Tampa, Florida, as well as her sister, Elaine Humphrey of El Paso, Texas, in addition to nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Marian was born on June 20, 1934 in Marblehead, Ohio, a small town of 800 people on Lake Erie, and was baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church. The oldest of three children, Marian attended Lakeside High School where she excelled in English, Home Economics, and Music, having marched with the band on the drum line. Marian went on to work in various secretarial and service roles. She moved to Florida in 1966, married Jack in 1970, and they joined Miramar Lutheran Church in 1971. Marian ultimately retired in 2018 from Parker Merrick Company as a Customer Service Manager. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, and knitting.

Her love for the church was evidenced not only by her commitment to regular bible study but also through the many volunteer roles she served – President of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, a Stephen’s Minister, a Deacon, founder of a prayer shawl ministry, and various Board roles in her churches throughout the years, culminating in one of her most selfless acts of leading GriefShare at Gloria Dei Lutheran for nearly 15 years, impacting hundreds of lives. Marian relied on her personal relationship with Jesus Christ to get her through the stormy seas and the deep valleys of life and viewed each day as a new day to serve, worship, and thank God for her many blessings.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held on March 2 in Perry, Florida. On March 16, Marian’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Davie, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Messiah Lutheran Church in Tampa, Florida where she was a member over the past several months
