Martha J. Napka, 90, of Lakeside-Marblehead passed away May 5 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky. She was born July 16, 1929 in Akron, OH the daughter of Paul and Bernice (Heft) Theiss. She married David Napka in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Marte was the first licensed female charter boat Captain on the Great Lakes. She held a saltwater charter license as well. From Carpenter, shuttle driver at Lakeside, bowling alley manager, camper extraordinaire. She did everything she set her mind to.
Carrying on her traditions are her daughters: Jody (David) Geyer of Marblehead, Metta Matuschke of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren: Cory Novak, Ty Shackelford, Katy Matuschke, David Matuschke; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters: Mary Svoboda of Sheffield Village, Nancy McFee of Akron.
