Mary Lou Zibert, 81, of Port Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born Sept. 28, 1938 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Clayton and Gwendolyn (Sibrel) Stout. She married Robert Zibert on Feb. 20, 1960 and he survives. Mrs. Zibert graduated from Port Clinton High School and went on to be a teacher, first at Carroll Elementary in Oak Harbor and then Bataan Elementary in Port Clinton for 41 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; Ottawa County Retired Teachers Association; and Ladies of the Elks, Port Clinton. She was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are her husband Robert; children Lynne (Darrell) Domokos of Port Clinton, Bobbi (Doug) Mahler of Port Clinton, John (Kimberly) Zibert of Port Clinton, Andrea (Steve) Wagner of Oak Harbor; grandchildren Adam Zibert, Christopher Zibert, Morgan Zibert, Paige Zibert, Ryan Mahler, Katie Jones, Mindi (Anthony) Maschari, Bethany (D.J.) Foos, Lilly Wagner and Mitchell Domokos; twelve great-grandchildren and her furry companion Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson: Matthew Zibert in 2007; brothers: Francis “Lefty” Havener, Charles “Louie” Havener and infant sister Connie.
There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Ottawa County 2424 E. Sand Rd, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 or the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr., Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
