Sam Hooper and his Blues Band
Middle Bass Island State Park and Lonz Winery Patio and Pavilion will be rockin’ and a rolling, jumpin’ and a jivin’, and generally a fun place to be on Saturday, July 17, when the Middle Bass Music Festival drops anchor for its summertime extravaganza on the Lake Erie Islands.
It’s going to be a great time with live music, artist demonstrations, food trucks, beer, wine, and all your friends and neighbors hanging out and enjoying some Middle Bass Island charm.
The Middle Bass Music Fest is 7 hours from noon to 7 p.m. of great sounds, ranging from: The Chardon Polka Band – A wildly entertaining look at polkas in the modern age; Cats on Holiday, a Zydeco and Funk Folk Band from Cleveland; Sonic Boom fusion jazz from Middle Bass; and the super hot blues guitar of Sam Hooper and his Blues Band from Cleveland. There will be an artist tent where guests will have an opportunity to explore different art mediums.
When you get hungry you can enjoy the BBQ from Jimmy G’s or The Port Clinton Rotary Perch Wagon.
To quench your thirst get some cold beer from Catawba Island Brewing Company or wine from Heineman’s, a Put-in-Bay favorite.
The Middle Bass Music Fest is hosted by The Middle Bass Dock Company, The Middle Bass Island State Park and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, The Island Grind at the Lonz Winery Press House, Lake Erie Shores and Islands, Ohio Arts Council, and Lake Erie Islands Conservancy.
The LEIC will be selling tee shirts, tote bags and handing out a variety of information on its island activities and preserves.
Learn how you can help preserve island properties for future generations.
There will be an extra Miller ferry at 7 p.m. from Middle Bass to take back attendees, but no cars.
Benny on Bass will be making an appearance again as the Middle Bass Music Fest icon. Watch for him on Facebook and visit www.mbimusicfest.com.
