PORT CLINTON – Port Clinton native, Michael Barone, who goes by the stage name Mikey Blue, will bring his original folk and blues music to Roseann Hickman RiverFront Live on Friday, July 3, at 6 p.m. Barone is a singer-songwriter who is no stranger to the RiverFront Live stage.

Barone will perform his originals, such as “One More Time,” a bluesy tune about American freedoms that he wrote during the COVID shutdowns. His song, “Hey, Did I Do Alright?” is written from the perspective of someone who is looking back and contemplating life.

“As you get older, you wonder if you did alright in life,” Barone said.

The RiverFront Live crowd will hear the debut of Barone’s new song, “Follow Me.”

“It’s about me wanting to go to Florida, to the Keys. I long to go south and be at the beach,” he said.

Much of Barone’s music can be heard on Spotify. It is recorded at Rock Haus Studio in Fremont, which is owned by Tony Taylor. Taylor plays bass on the recordings, and Kevin McCarthy plays drums. Barone plays blues guitar, harmonica, and piano.

But at RiverFront Live, the crowd can expect an intimate concert featuring just Barone with his harmonica and guitar.

“I love playing outside at RiverFront Live. I love that I get to play in my hometown,” he said. “It’s a great atmosphere, and when I play down there, I get to play for friends and family.”
