In September of 2022, local photographer Greg Peiffer captured an iconic image of the Christening Ceremony at Put-in-Bay for Miller Ferry’s new M/V Mary Ann Market, the fifth and largest vessel in the Miller Ferry fleet. In the photo, the Tin Goose flies above the blue and white Mary Ann Market, which is festooned with American flags, creating a poignantly patriotic scene.

The expressive photo was named a winner in the Ohio Lake Erie Commission’s 34th Annual Life on Lake Erie Photo Contest. The photo won in the America’s Story – Lake Erie’s Legacy category that was created this year to honor America’s 250th birthday.
