Area residents may now reach out to Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) for rent, mortgage, and water and sewer utility assistance available for households that have been impacted by COVID-19.
GLCAP now has COVID-19 relief funds to help Ottawa County residents, as well as Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County households that are at or below 200 percent of federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $52,400 annual income/household of four) and need assistance. Residents may be eligible for assistance if they have missed or fallen behind on rent, mortgage or water/sewer payments for reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Reasons may include lost wages due to business closures, reduced work hours, household quarantines, and other hardships.
GLCAP’s funding is available now until Dec. 30 and is part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act stimulus package. Applicants are advised to reach out early to seek assistance.
Those who need help may visit www.glcap.org/covidrelief or call GLCAP at 1-800-775-9767.
“We are thrilled to have resources available to help people in our communities recover from the economic fallout from COVID-19,” GLCAP President/CEO Ruthann House said. “We strongly encourage anyone who needs help to contact us soon before funds run out or the deadline is reached.”
