Need for Personal Protective Equipment due to COVID-19

A message from the Director of the Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency, Fred Petersen:

Dear Community Member:

The response to the COVID-19 Pandemic has created a major shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Our response partners such as Magruder Hospital, local EMS, and many others have identified critical shortages of essential PPE. We project that in less than a week many of these partners will be exhausting their current supply of PPE.

I would like to reach out to you and request that if you have PPE available that you would consider providing it to us for this response. We are in dire need of the following: N95 masks, surgical masks, protective gowns, face shields, and gloves. Additionally, any PPE or products that could be utilized in a similar manner would be considered (i.e. Tyvek suits could be utilized instead of protective gowns).

If you have any of this PPE and can provide it to us for this response, please call Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency at 419-734-6900 or email ema@co.ottawa.oh.us.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. We are part of a fantastic community in Ottawa County and will get through this incident with everyone’s help.

Sincerely,
Fred Petersen, Director
