Experience the Peninsula connected with Swig Ohio Shuttles to provide adventure tours throughout Ottawa County.

It’s a common problem. People know there is lots to do in Ottawa County, but they don’t know how to find out what’s going on or where to find information about the area’s most popular entertainment hot spots. This spring, a new business will take the work out of the play in Ottawa County.

Experience the Peninsula has partnered with Swig Ohio Shuttles to offer bus service to locations around the county. Clients can choose package or custom adventure tours that provide 4, 6 or 8-hour experiences for ages eight to adult. Experience the Peninsula adventure tours are available to groups of six or more.

Clients can choose from VIP packages or create their own adventure.

VIP Experience Package options include the Corporate Experience which features visits to an indoor golf simulator and a cigar lounge; the Sailing or Cruzin’ Charter which features a five-hour Lake Erie excursion and guided tour of the Lake Erie shoreline; and a Kids Birthday Bash that includes bowling, laser tag and arcade games.

Clients who prefer to design their own custom packages can choose from a variety of destinations, including a drive-thru African petting zoo, an air gun range or a water park with a pool bar. Among the other activity choices are candle making, paddleboarding, glassblowing and whiskey pairing.

“My tagline is Park, Stay, Relax and Play. We also offer Stay and Play Deals with partnering hotels,” said Experience the Peninsula owner, Kristina Tilson. “Experience the Peninsula promotes convenience, safety and community.”

Experience the Peninsula will not only make having fun in Ottawa County a more vibrant experience for locals and tourists, but it will also help bring exposure to many of the county’s extraordinary businesses. All partnering businesses are highlighted on the Experience the Peninsula website.

Promoting businesses and serving the public are lifelong callings for Tilson, who had her first experience with hospitality when she joined the staff of Catawba Island Club at the age of 15. She eventually stepped into the marketing profession and spent her entire life promoting Ottawa County. She was instrumental in building the Walleye Drop into a nationally-recognized event and created the popular Bar Swim that draws hundreds of people to peninsula bars during the fest.

“I love what I do. I love promoting my community,” Tilson said. “I’m a child of service. I have no doubt about that. Community is important to me.”

Experience the Peninsula adventure tours are available on Saturdays through Mondays. Booking is available now for tours that begin on April 1. For more information on the many tour options or to book an adventure tour, visit
