The Port Clinton Soccer Academy has been a huge success for Coach Paco Romero and his staff, and this year students from preschool to Grade 6 will enjoy the experience even more in the new Port Clinton Field House.
The brand new, state of the art Field House is at 407 Short St., at the corner of South Railroad Street, on the east side of downtown Port Clinton. Soccer sessions will be held on Saturdays from Feb. 27 to March 27.
Groups and times will be: Group 1 – Pre-K to Grade 1 (or 3 to 6 years old); Group 2 – Grades 2 – 4 (or age 7-9); Group 3 – Grades 5-6 (or age 10-12). The Port Clinton Redskin Soccer Academy is designed to provide children an opportunity to learn soccer skills by using the coaching techniques and philosophy of the Port Clinton Boys and Girls High School Soccer Teams. The coaching staff will provide a fun and educational atmosphere to develop individual talents in modified training sessions, said Coach Romero. For specific times, based on age level, check the registration form at www.pccsd.net under the News.
Players will participate in 20-minute futsal style games with 15-minute instructional practice prior to each play. This program will provide players the opportunities to build their skill sets and provide a better game experience for all participants.
Participants should wear flat athletic shoes and shin guards. Cost for participation is $25, with checks payable to Port Clinton Schools. Varsity Coach Romero and his coaching staff, along with high school soccer players, will provide instruction. For complete details and a registration form visit www.pccsd.net.
