North Coast Concert Band features holiday music at Performing Arts Center

The North Coast Concert Band will host a free concert on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. in Port Clinton High School’s Performing Arts Center.

Start your holidays on a musical note with a concert by the North Coast Concert Band, which is hosting a free concert on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at Port Clinton High School’s Performing Arts Center.

The Concert Band will present a wide variety of holiday music featuring vocalist Kate Volz. Included will be various carols from Christian traditions, a hymn and dance from Jewish Hanukkah traditions, and music from popular Broadway shows and pop singers.

Approximately 100 musicians from Ohio’s North Coast communities to make up the North Coast Concert Band, rehearsing weekly at Bellevue Senior High School. The band members range in age from their early 20’s to the mid-80’s and come from many occupations. The Band performs three formal concerts held on the first Sunday in December, March and May. The band also performs several informal outdoor concerts in June and July.

Founded in January 1983, the North Coast Concert Band is led by John Kustec. The North Coast Big Band, formed in 1987, is led by Gary Keller.
