HURON – Three of Ohio’s regional STEM hubs are joining with state education leaders to help teachers bring artificial intelligence into their classrooms with confidence instead of anxiety.

The Northeast Ohio STEM Hub, the Akron STEM Hub, and the Northwest Ohio STEM Hub, representing nearly all of northern Ohio, will host the Northern Ohio AI Workshop on Monday, Oct. 5, at Bowling Green State University’s Firelands Campus in Huron. The event is presented in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN), and The AI Education Project.

The hands-on, full-day workshop is built for educators who want real, practical, no-stress ways to bring AI into their teaching. No computer science background is required, just curiosity. Sessions will focus on classroom-ready strategies teachers can put to use right away, rather than abstract theory.

“AI is already part of our students’ world, so it needs to be part of how we prepare our teachers, not something we approach with hesitation. This workshop gives educators from across northern Ohio a chance to try practical tools together, ask real questions, and walk away with something they can use in their classroom the very next day,” said Christine Danhoff, a North Point Educational Services Center employee who serves as the Director of the Northeast Ohio (NEO) STEM Hub.

Registration is free and open to educators across the region.
