Norwalk Truckers win first game of season

The Norwalk Truckers Boys Varsity Baseball team won their first game of the season as they defeated the Sandusky Blue Streaks 11-4. For Norwalk, Isaiah Wells and Landon Ferkel each had three hits. Avery Scheel had two hits and three runs, and Carter Harp had two hits. For Sandusky, Deyker Inciarte singled for their only hit.

The Huron Tigers Boys Varsity Baseball team was blanked by the Elyria Catholic Panthers 5-0. For Huron, Austin Wasily had a single, and pitcher Landin Hohler and Paul Maloney combined for eight strikeouts.

The St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers staged a late-game rally but fell short as the Old Fort Stockaders came out on top 4-3. For St. Mary Central Catholic, Will Bruni struck out four and walked two. For the Stockaders, Carter Cleveland struck out 10 batters in five innings.

The Lakota Raiders shut out the Danbury Lakers 10-0. Lakota scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning. For Lakota, Grant Bomer went four for four with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.

The Clyde Fliers defeated the Bellevue Redmen 14-5. The Fliers had 17 hits and scored 12 runs in the first two innings. For Clyde, Ella Howey and Vanessa West each had three hits, and Kennedi Long, Aubrey Sengstock, Karissa Smith and Teaghan Smith had two hits each.

The Norwalk Truckers shut out the Sandusky Blue Streaks 10-0 in a six-inning game. For Norwalk, Audryn Ott and Tyra Corbin each had two hits. Corbin had three runs, and Emily Skeel had a single and two RBI.

The Perkins Pirates beat the Columbian Tornadoes 6-2. Perkins was on the scoreboard first with three runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning. For Perkins, Addi Obermeyer struck out nine while allowing two hits.

The Port Clinton Redskins won a close game as they defeated the St. Paul Flyers 11-9. Port Clinton scored five runs in the top of the first inning. For Port Clinton, Ashton Sanchez struck out 14 and was four for five at the plate.

The Danbury Lakers won against the Lakota Raiders 13-0. For Danbury, Ellie Fish had five hits and two doubles plus two runs. Also scoring for Danbury was Miranda Evans who singled, tripled and had four runs.
