Alexander scores 1,000th point

GENOA – Despite losing to Genoa, 41-34, Oak Harbor reached a milestone as Jac Alexander scored the 1,000th point in his career.

Making the achievement that much more meaningful is the fact that Alexander did it during his junior season.

The undefeated Comets (22-0) got 14 points from Jake Plantz and 11 from Allen Laytart. Alexander scored 19 points and Clay Schulte added 13.

Rockets fall to Fliers in sectional semifinal, 58-49

TOLEDO — A tough season that saw Oak Harbor fight injuries and yet work to remain competitive ended with a 58-49 loss to the Clyde Fliers.

Clyde jumped out to an early led and held off a Rocket rally to claim victory.

Alexis Keegan scored 18 points to lead the Fliers (8-15), and Jackie Smith added 16 points. Kaitlin Paul had a game-high 19 points and Sophia Eli scored 15.
