Rockets rout Redskins

BY YANEEK SMITH, BEACON CONTRIBUTOR       OAK HARBOR – Oak Harbor jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in its 69-28 victory over Port Clinton. The Rockets (10-10, 6-5 SBC Bay) led 25-9 after the first quarter and 37-16 at halftime.

Oak Harbor’s Ryann Steinbrick led all scorers with 20 points and Sophia Eli chipped in with 19. O.J. Jackson and Carli Laurel both scored nine points for the Redskins (1-20, 1-10).

Rocket boys rout Bellevue, 56-32

Oak Harbor held Bellevue to just 16 points in three quarters as it cruised to a 56-32 victory. The Rockets (10-8) led 17-7 after the first quarter and 28-10 at halftime.

Jac Alexander led all scorers with 20 points and Clay Schulte scored 13. Bellevue (6-11) got a team-high nine points from Caleb Marshall.

Rockets fall to Margaretta, 51-41

Margaretta held off a late Oak Harbor rally and defeated the Rockets, 51-41. The Polar Bears got 24 points from Mitch Raifsndier and Dylan Morris chipped in with 12. Jac Alexander led the Rockets with 18 points.
