HURON — Oak Harbor jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in its 58-42 victory of Huron. Jac Alexander scored 32 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the way for the Rockets (7-5, 3-4 SBC Bay).
“We talked about (the first loss). We didn’t think we played very well against them at home. We were kind of disappointed in our effort that night,” said Oak Harbor coach Eric Sweet. “We needed to be the aggressor, the more physical team, and get us to an early lead. We stressed to our guys that we had to get (the win).
“(Jac’s performance) was phenomenal. We talked about how we don’t want to stand around and watch him. We’ve been doing things to help him out. At the same respect, you have to give Jac some room. He got everyone involved. There’s some movement that we want to want to stay away from. Gage Brough had a tremendous game.”
The Tigers (6-7, 4-4) defeated Oak Harbor, 54-44, in their first meeting on Dec. 7. In this game, Oak Harbor led 18-5 after the first quarter and 33-15 at halftime.
Clay Schulte and Brough both scored 10 points to help pace the Rockets. Brown scored 17 points to lead Huron but no other player scored more than six points.
