Oak Harbor boys rebound after first league loss

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — After losing its first league game of the season, Oak Harbor defeated St. Joseph Academy, 8-6, to improve to 16-7.

Reagan Schultz pitched for the win and finished with three hits to lead the team. Sydney Overmyer, Porter Gregory and Hannah Schimmoeller all finished with two hits apiece to pace the Rockets.

Trailing 4-3, Oak Harbor took the lead for good by scoring three runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Jordan Kohut finished with three hits and two RBIs to lead the Jaguars.

The Rockets were recently named the top seed in the Division II Genoa District. They will play the winner of Rossford and Toledo Woodward on May 13 at 5 p.m. at home.

Margaretta 9, Oak Harbor 2

CASTALIA — Margaretta took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning and broke the game open with seven runs in the fifth in its 9-2 win over Oak Harbor, giving them first place in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division.

Phoebe Dreschel led the way for the Polar Bears, driving in three runs and scoring twice, Alayna Pemberton had two hits and two RBIs and Addie Kromer finished with three hits and scored twice.

Reagan Schultz pitched well, but four Rocket errors hurt the team. She got support from Ashley Schiller and Sydney Overmyer, both of whom drove in a run.

Oak Harbor 14, Port Clinton 1

OAK HARBOR — Reagan Schultz hit two home runs and drove in three runs while allowing just one run in the circle to help Oak Harbor defeat Port Clinton, 14-1, in five innings.

Hannah Schimmoeller had four RBIs to help pace the Rockets, Remi Gregory drove in three runs and Reese Adkins finished with three hits and two RBIs.

Kenzie Martinez drove in a run and Olivia Emerson and two hits to lead the Redskins.

Oak Harbor led 2-0 after one inning and scored sixth runs apiece in the next two innings to blow the game open.

Oak Harbor 11, Huron 1

OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor scored eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and cruised to an 11-1 win in five innings over Huron.

Hannah Schimmoeller and Ashley Schiller both drove in three runs and Reagan Schultz had two hits and two RBIs. Schiller, Schultz, Sydney Overmyer and Porter Gregory finished with two hits apiece.

Schultz allowed one unearned run on four hits, struck out eight and walked one in five innings of work.
