The Oak Harbor Public Library is ready to kick off its “Summer Reading Program: All Together Now.” The program is on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. at Veterans Park Shelter House in Oak Harbor. Giveaways brighten each week and there is a Grand prize at the last session.
Here is the summer schedule:
- June 6: Imagination Station – Marble Machine
- June 13: 4-H Educator – Team Building
- June 20: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association
- June 27: Armstrong Air & Space Museum
- July 11: Community Heroes & Arbor Day Celebration
As part of the “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program during the month of June the library is asking for donations of cleaning supplies, paper products, and hygiene products. All donations will go to the BCS Food Pantry in Oak Harbor. Please drop off items at the library during regular library hours.
Storytime for preschoolers is every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the children’s area of the library.
Just for Adults:
60 Plus Clinic at the library: Provided by the Ottawa County Health Department, Wednesday, June 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic provides basic services to people 60+ such as blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening, and health education at no charge. To schedule an appointment call the Ottawa County Health Department at 419-734-6800.
Watercolor on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Bring your own supplies and join others who enjoy the art of watercolor.
Needle Crafts Group on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Bring your own supplies and see what others are making.
Pinochle every Friday at 2 p.m. Join us!
Book Clubs:
“Coffee and a Book”, book club, meets on Wednesday, June 14 at 11 a.m. in the library meeting room. “Things Past Telling” by Sheila Williams tells the story of a woman who lives to the age of 112 and the life she experiences. Pick up your copy of this historical fiction book, read, and join us for a discussion. New members welcome.
The 4th Tuesday Book Club will be held on Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at the library. “The Indigo Girl” by Natasha Boyd is an incredible story of love, dangerous and hidden friendships, ambition, betrayal, and sacrifice. Pick up a copy of the book from the library, read and join us for a discussion. New Members welcome.

Free covid test kits are available at the library. Meeting rooms available by reservation. Quiet Rooms are available on a first- come first-served basis.
The Local History & Museum Center is open Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. A local historian is on site most Thursdays.
