Oak Harbor Library invites everyone to celebrates holidays on Dec. 12

Join the library staff and supporters for the holidays at the Oak Harbor Public Library, 147 W. Main St., Oak Harbor on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 5:30 to 7 pm.  Music will be provided by the North Coast Community Band Clarinet Quartet and the Bassoonaumi.  Light refreshments will be served.

The library will be closed Dec. 22, Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 for the Christmas Holidays.

The December schedule for the library includes:

Storytime for preschoolers: every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the children’s area of the library.

After School Fun:

Make a Christmas Card the week of on Monday through Friday, Dec. 4-8.

Decorate a Christmas Ornament the week of December 11th through the15th.

Explore our Lego Coding Express the last 2 weeks of the month.

Just for Adults:

60 Plus Clinic at the library.  Provided by the Ottawa County Health Department, Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The clinic provides basic services to people 60+ such as blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening, and health education at no charge.  To schedule an appointment please call the Ottawa County Health Department at 419-734-6800.

Computer Lessons are available on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., on Friday at 2 p.m., or by appointment call 419-898-7001.

Watercolor on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.   Bring your own supplies.

Needle Crafts Group on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.  Bring your own supplies.

Pinochle every Friday at 2 pm.

Book Clubs:

“Coffee and a Book”, book club, meets on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m., in the library fireplace roomPick up a book to read and join us for a discussion. New members welcome.

The 4th Tuesday Book Club will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 6 p.m. at the library.  Pick up a book to read and join us for a discussion.  New Members welcome.

Library Hours: Monday – Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Meeting rooms available by reservation. Quiet Rooms are available on a first- come first-served basis. The Local History & Museum Center is open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. A local historian is on site most Thursdays.
