Mayor Quinton Babcock says village officials are urging residents to call, write or visit the Oak Harbor Municipal Administrative Offices at 150 W. Main St., and attend council meetings to keep the lines of communication open.
In an effort to encourage communication between residents and village officials, the administration of the Village of Oak Harbor is reminding community members that village council meets on the first and third Mondays of the month at 7 p.m., at the municipal building, at 146 N. Church St.. Those meetings that fall on a holiday, as will be the case on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, will convene on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
“We want to do good for our community as a whole and be able to hear input from individuals as well. We are here to represent the people,” said Oak Harbor Village Council Member Jackie Macko. “While we may not be able to solve all issues, we certainly can’t address your issues if you don’t reach out to us.
“We are all in this together; together in the best little village around. Please use our communications channels, especially during these uncharted times.”
Because of COVID-19 safety protocols, council meetings remain closed to the public until further notice. However, meetings will continue to be live streamed on the “Official Village of Oak Harbor, Ohio” Facebook page.
Any comments and questions left on the video stream are reviewed after the meeting. The meeting agenda is posted the week before the meeting. If residents have any questions or input on agenda items, they are encouraged to contact council members, the mayor or administrative offices.
In addition to the Facebook page, community members may utilize the “Contact Us” form on the village’s website, oakharbor.oh.us. Residents may also email council members directly, using the contact information provided on the website, or contact Mayor Quinton Babcock at qbabcock@oakharbor.oh.us or call 419-635-7560. For more information, call Oak Harbor Municipal Administrative Offices, 419-898-5561 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
