Thomas Dean Abel, December 24, 1947 – March 22, 2019
Thomas Dean Abel, 72, of Port Clinton, passed peacefully on March 22. He was born in Port Clinton on Dec. 24, 1947 to the late Charles and Lucile Abel. He graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1964. Tom served proudly as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the 173rd Air Borne Special Forces.

Mel Frederick, February 4, 1939 – March 18, 2019
Mel Frederick, 80, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully March 18. He was born Feb. 4, 1939 in Port Clinton, son of Joseph and Margaret (Juby) Frederick. Mel was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for Brown’s Marina in Lakeside, later starting his own boat refinishing business.

Christopher Gary Palmer 45, of Oak Harbor, passed away March 18 at his home. Chris was born on Sept. 28, 1973 in Port Clinton, the son of Claude and Beverly A. (Barnette) Havens.
Surviving are daughter Alicia Palmer; mother Beverly A. Havens; grandmother Beulah Robbins; and siblings David Palmer, Dexter Havens, Walter Havens, Cynthia Harris and Wendy Havens.
